The mistranslation of Genesis 6:4 has caused some serious doctrinal problems that, when combined with the book of 1 Enoch and other commentaries, has some bible teachers and scholars expecting earth’s last days to look like a bad science-fiction movie.
The word nephil or nephilim (H5303) is only used in 2 places in Scripture — Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33 — but entire belief systems have been based on them!
This essay includes word studies on the dragon, devil, serpent and Satan and how they interact with and affect mankind. Nephilim, Raphaim, Anakim, giants, the goat-man, fallen angels, Leviathan, Vipers, the worm and Lucifer will be studied as well, using only God’s inspired Word that He has preserved for us.
But first we’ll look at the book of 1 Enoch which was written to cause all of this deception.
The Book of 1 Enoch
1 Enoch was first printed and released to the public in 1821 without our having access to the original text. This was after a great reset when the end-times biblical narrative began to be skewed — Darby flooded the U.S. with dispensationalist false doctrines in the 1830’s.
The book of 1 Enoch disappeared in 800 AD and was considered lost until 1773 (source) when they were planning the great reset which started with the founding of America in 1776 — this was the time when the Deist founding “fathers” of the United States were claiming America for Jewish-Rome (info here and here). 1 Enoch was released shortly after in 1821 to push fraudulent propaganda that distorts biblical accounts into something resembling a sci-fi movie. This deception is all part of a plan by those who want to take control of the entire world and bring it under Communism (details toward the bottom of this article).
Enoch was quoted by Jude due to oral tradition — the quotes that were passed down from generation to generation about the man who was taken up to heaven alive. In Enoch’s day, they were scratching pictures on stone tablets… Enoch did not write a book. And hearsay, or oral tradition, of a human man’s words, is NOT the inspired word of God!
My copy of the book of 1 Enoch is included in The Complete Apocrypha, ISBN 9780999892435. In chapter 7, it claims there were “three thousand ell” giants. This online converter says that 3,000 ell is a whopping 11,250 feet!! But that is today’s ell which was standardized for the garment industry and is not the same as the ancient ell.
RefuteIt.com says the giants in the book of 1 Enoch were actually 4,500-feet tall, and it is physiologically impossible for anything that height that is made of flesh and bone to survive (source here).
The tallest building on earth is only 2,717-feet tall, and it’s beyond comprehension (source). Imagine something nearly twice that high walking around… it’s ridiculous, and unscriptural.

Did Angels Begat with Women?
Genesis 6:4 (KJV) with the Strong’s reference numbers reads as follows:
There wereH1961 giantsH5303 in the earthH776 in thoseH1992 days;H3117 and alsoH1571 afterH310 that,H3651 whenH834 the sonsH1121 of GodH430 came inH935 untoH413 the daughtersH1323 of men,H120 and they bareH3205 children to them, the sameH1992 became mighty menH1368 whichH834 were of old,H4480 H5769 menH376 of renown.H8034
This is a highly misinterpreted verse. Were the sons of elohim wicked or righteous? Were the female-adam wicked or righteous? Were the sons of elohim angels? Can angels even have sperm? Scripture answers all of these questions.
Points of Note
Here are 3 points to note regarding the poor English translation of God’s true inspired word in Genesis 6:4:
1) H430 translated “of God” here is technically incorrect, but is proper. The word elohim is a PLURAL meaning more than one god. This word is used to describe both an evil elohim (i.e. “gods”) or the holy Elohim in Scripture. It is translated as a singular God here because it represents the holy Elohim Godhead which is one Spirit Being made up of 3 persons (God is all in all in the spirit realm – 1 Corinthians 15:28).
2) H5303 is translated as “giants” but it has many definitions from many sources (see the below section).
3) Strong’s H1992 is supposed to cover this entire phrase: “children to them, the same.” That word H1992 only means “those or them.” It is referring to “Those mighty men of old.”
H5303 Nephil Definitions
H5303 is nephı̂yl nephil, from the root word H5307 nâphal which means “to fall, fail, lost, perish, etc.” This tells us nephil men are wicked vessels of wrath fit for destruction.
The ancient versions translates nephil as “the giant in the sky, i.e. the constellation Orion; plural is the greater constellations.” Orion is worshiped by the worldly, even today — see this video for details.
Strong’s defines H5303 as “a feller, that is, a bully or tyrant.”
The Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon definition is “giants.”
A good working definition of nephil is “tyrannical rulers” or “giant bullies,” keeping in mind that Goliath was only 9 1/2 feet tall. The word “giant” denotes power, not only height.
Nephilim-Men versus Adam-Men?
If we read Genesis 6:1-7 in the original Hebrew, we see there are two “men” here and two “earths” here, but they appear the same in the English translation. Here are the verses as they actually read in the Hebrew:
6:1 — And it came to pass when adam-men began to multiply on the face of the adamah, and daughters were born unto them;
6:2 — The sons of Elohim saw the daughters of adam-men that they were fair, and they took wives of all which they chose.
6:3 — Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not always contend/struggle with adam-man for he is also flesh [flesh is carnal and God hates it], so his days will be one hundred twenty years.
6:4 — There were nephil-men in the land in those days [when adam-man began multiplying in adamah], and also AFTER that when the sons of Elohim came unto the daughters of adam-man and bear the same mighty [nephil] who are of ancient iysh fame. (H376 – iysh is also what Goliath was — it means “male; human person; champion.”)
6:5 — And Jehovah saw that the evil of adam-man was great in the land, and every imagination of his mind and his heart/inner man was only evil all the time.
6:6 — Jehovah was sorry that He made adam-man on the earth, it pained Him unto His inner being.
6:7 — Jehovah said, I will wipe out adam-man whom I have created from the face of the ground of the adamah on account of adam-man, even to the beast, even to the creeping things, even to the flying creatures of the sky, because I’m sorry that I made them.
6:8 — Noah attained favor in the eyes of Jehovah.
6:9 — ….Noah was a just iysh, whole in his generation [excellent righteous spirit like Daniel], and Noah walked together with Elohim. (So we see Noah was a righteous iysh, opposite of the ancient iysh/champions that Goliath and nephil were.)
We see that Noah, the ONLY man God found no fault with, is an iysh who is adam-flesh.
Goliath was an iysh and also adam-flesh (see 1 Samuel 17:23 translated as “champion”).
The iysh are mighty adam, same as the average adam, just being created with more might or superior in some way (this might can be good or evil in Scripture).
In Numbers 23:19, God differentiates between an iysh-man and an adam-man. It says, “God is not iysh that He should lie, neither is He son of adam that He should repent.” Here we see God calling iysh liars, but calling Noah a “just iysh” in Genesis 6:9. So there is average adam-flesh and gifted iysh adam-flesh.
The nephil who were already in the land BEFORE the sons of God begat nephil, were wicked mighty adam-men from Cain’s lineage. The righteous iysh sons of God began producing more iysh-nephil to the point that only ONE righteous iysh son of God was remaining, and that was Noah.
The children produced by lying sons of God/iysh-adam with wicked female-adam produced more nephil-adam which is a feller of men, violent tyrants and bullies with great might.
The iysh, the female-adam, and the nephil-men they produced were ALL ADAM-MEN.
The wicked seed line here is the adam-man, from which we all come from, including the predestined sons of Elohim. The righteous seed line is spiritual, the holy Elohim. This is why God sent Himself to earth in the adam-flesh as Jesus Christ, to atone for the sins of our fallen flesh so we will be made perfect in the eternal spiritual realm.
Summary:
- Elohim in Genesis 6 is the Holy Elohim.
- The sons of God were adam-men of flesh predestined to have God as their spiritual Father.
- The female-adam were wicked continually.
- The sons of God before the flood had earthly powers which were taken away.
- Their begat children were nephil, powerful violent tyrants with literal powers.
- There are no more nephilim with powers since the flood.
- ALL human flesh races on earth are of the adam creation. Every. single. one.
People still aren’t seeing this. I’ll post it another way:
- Noah = adam-man
- Noah = iysh-man
- Iysh = Adam
- Noah = son of God
- Sons of God = righteous-iysh-adam-men
- Righteous-iysh-male-adam + wicked female-adam = nephil iysh-adam
- Nephil = wicked-iysh-adam-men
- Adam-flesh can have either a righteous spiritual seed or a wicked spiritual seed, but they are all still adam-flesh.
God was angered because there was only one righteous iysh remaining (Noah). Every iysh had become a violent, powerful nephil and God ended them with the flood.
There were never any “other-worldly” races of beings walking among mankind. All humans of flesh come from adam.
Sons of God
Adam-men whose spiritual seed is of God the Father are called “sons of God.” This phrase does not ever refer to celestial beings/angels in Scripture — righteous “angels” seen on the earth are human-flesh messengers. Heavenly angels are invisible spirits in the spiritual realm.
The phrase son of means “to do the will of the father” — this is why FALLEN angels cannot be called sons of the holy Elohim. There is no possible way that fallen angels ever procreated with human women.
Here are a few verses where we see sons of God referring to adam-flesh:
- Hosea 1:10
- John 1:12
- Romans 8:14 & 19
- Galatians 4:6
- Philippians 2:15
- 1 John 3:1 & 2
The sons of Elohim were also adam-flesh which included Noah — they were righteous iysh/males, humans men champions created with God as their spiritual Father.
Adam-men and women were created either to be a vessel of honor (iysh-adam sons of God) OR a vessel of wrath with the devil as their spiritual father (John 8:44).
The sons of Elohim had their earthly lives shortened due to their mistake in choosing wives, from over 900+ years down to 120 years, which is only 80-ish years in our time. All men are in need of a Savior to atone for our fallen flesh… there is none righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10).
Nephilim is NOT the Name of a Race
NEPHIL IS NOT A PROPER NOUN. It is not the name of a race of people. It is describing the offspring created by mighty men and wicked women who were also the men of old. Iysh-adam-flesh sons of God + wicked adam-flesh-women = nephil wicked adam-flesh.
The Authorized Version Bible used the word Nephilim in Genesis 6:4; however, it was changed in both the American and British Revised Versions to the word “giants.” This was a more accurate change since the word nephil is not a Proper Noun indicating a race. However, it is referring more to might and power (the ability to bully and suppress people) than it is to height.
The Anakim Race Included Nephil after the Flood
Nephil is a Noun Masculine which indicates a power. Anakim is a Proper Noun indicating a race.
The word nephil (H5303) is only used in 2 places in Scripture — Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33.
Numbers 13:33 clearly states that the nephil offspring were of the Anakim race:
And there we saw the giants [nephilim], the sons of Anak, which come of the giants [nephilim]: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Nephil means they were wicked adam with a superior ability of some sort (strength, height, intelligence, speed, might, etc.). Anakim is the proper name of the race that included nephil.
Note: The -im on the end of a Hebrew word is the same as an -s at the end of an English word. Nephil is singular; nephilim is plural.
The Constellation Orion is a Nephil
The Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon says that it’s understood that nephil is “the giant in the sky” which is the constellation Orion from which they believe all adam-man gods and spirit gods come from, but we know this is pure mythology that is not of God and not in Scripture. However, these godless men who worship self actually believe this nonsense.
All those people and idols who were/are considered gods on the earth are always seen posing in the image of the constellation Orion — right arm up, left foot pointed forward. To the wicked, it symbolizes “as above, so below” which means what happens in heaven also happens in hell. They will all find out differently when they get there.

Orion looks like it is holding a crown and a bow. Revelation 6:2 says, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Jesus Christ opened this first seal — the bow was Paul and the crown was Peter (for details, see The Jewish-Roman War & the Two Witnesses in the Great Tribulation).
God’s word says the heavens declare His glory and the expanse shows the work of His hands (Psalm 19:1). The holy Elohim wrote the Gospel message of Jesus Christ in the stars (source here), but pagan, apostate mankind has perverted it and turned biblical astronomy into mythological astrology of gods.
The Giants
The English translation “giants” has been around since at least the 1599 Geneva Bible. Young’s Literal Translation translated nephil as “fallen ones” which does not fit the meaning/definitions of the word at all (which is beyond disappointing for a literal translation).
I believe the evil people who first possessed God’s inspired word for centuries used the word “Nephilim” incorrectly as a Proper Noun in Genesis 6:4 to spin a narrative, and people just can’t let go of the fable.
The begat children were nephilim (plural nephil) — wicked adam-humans with a superior ability — but not necessarily literal giants. No race on earth exceeded 9 1/2 feet tall according to the 66 books that God has preserved and canonized for us.
In fact, I believe the 30-foot skeletons we see are fakes, done by the same people who used the word “Nephilim” or “giants” instead of the more accurate translation “a feller; bully; tyrant.”
THESE GIANTS/TYRANTS WERE HUMAN ADAM-MEN…. the wicked created by God for the day of evil (Proverbs 16:4)…. those whose spirit-father is the evil elohim which is Satan who is the devil, dragon and serpent (John 8:44, Revelation 12:9 & 20:2). See God Created Evil.
When God created man, we were taller and much more intelligent than the short, dumbed-down humans that we are now — we have regressed over the millennia due to our sinful flesh residing in a cursed earth. It doesn’t take fallen angel DNA to create very tall men — God created them. Adam was the FIRST man who was created as a righteous iysh just like Goliath was an iysh, and all human races originated from Adam. It is not unbelievable that a giant-gene was present within iysh Adam’s DNA that eventually produced the 9 1/2-foot tall Goliath after the flood.
Who are the Mighty Men of Old?
Genesis 4:16-24 tells us who they are. They are NOT fallen angels. We have established they are human adam-flesh who once had powers before the flood.
The first man Adam was created as a son of God. He begat Cain who was a murderer of righteous Abel.
Cain was banished from his parents’ land and went to dwell in the land of Nod. Those in Nod were the wicked offspring of Adam and Eve after they fell (Adam lived for 930 years).
Cain met his wife in Nod and their offspring became the rulers, giants, tyrants, mighty men of old, men of renown. They are as follows:
Cain was the builder of cities. He built the first city and named it after his son, evil Enoch (Genesis 4:17).
Cain’s great-great-great-great grandson Lamech had sons who created the worldly things that made up Babylon:
Jabal was the father of house construction and cattle/meat production (Genesis 4:20).
Jubal was the father of musicians and the creator of musical instruments, specifically the harp and the organ, the strings and the keys (Genesis 4:21).
Tubalcain was the father of metal-working. He was the instructor of every artificer/metal-worker of brass and iron (Genesis 4:22).
Now the book of 1 Enoch will have you believe that “fallen angels” were responsible for coming up with these acts, but we see here that is not the case. These were incredibly intelligent, powerful human nephil-adam-men from a wicked spiritual lineage.
Mingling With The Seed Of Men
Daniel 2:43 says, “And whereasH1768 thou sawestH2370 ironH6523 mixedH6151 with miryH2917 clay,H2635 they shallH1934 mingle themselvesH6151 with the seedH2234 of men:H606 but they shallH1934 notH3809 cleaveH1693 oneH1836 toH5974 another,H1836 even asH1888 H1768 ironH6523 is notH3809 mixedH6151 withH5974 clay.”H2635
This verse sounds like something other worldly is breeding with human beings, but that is not what the sources within the Blue Letter Bible explains about the original text.
The word “seed” means “posterity, fruits.” Eve referred to Seth as being the seed that replaced righteous Abel (Genesis 4:25-26). Genesis 3:15 tells us there is the “seed of man/woman” and the “seed of the serpent/devil/Satan.” This explains that the “seed of men” represents flesh, and the seed of Satan represents one of two spiritual seeds (the other being God’s seed). Abel was the physical seed of Adam and a spiritual seed of God; Cain was also the physical seed of Adam but had the spiritual seed of Satan so had the devil as his father.
In Daniel 2:41 & 43 in the KJV, the word miry is H2917 and means “clay.” The word clay is H2635 which means “potsherd” and is defined by the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary as “a piece or fragment of a broken pot” (Job 2:8).
We know both of these groups are evil because the stone of God’s kingdom destroyed them both on the land’s last day in 70 AD (see “Coming in the Clouds” and Jesus’ Second Coming).
Daniel 2:35 says the iron and clay are both chaff. In Daniel 2:43, we see the chaff of iron and clay mingling with the “seed of men,” the wheat, but not cleaving to them. Translation: The powerful wicked rulers are corrupting the righteous men and not adopting their righteous ways (the tale as old as time). This is referring to men controlled by the devil spirit mingling among those men controlled by God’s Holy Spirit, but they do not have close relationships with one another. This is happening now in this New Covenant Church Age where the tares and the wheat are growing together, and the wolves (false teachers) are lying with the lambs (details here).
This verse, Daniel 2:43, helps to clarify that neither alien or spiritual beings, nor technology, can produce offspring with human beings. Human beings were created in the image of God which is Spirit (Genesis 1:26-27), but all are fallen. God will call the seed of men to His Son, but the seed of the serpent whose father is the devil were created to be fit for destruction (see God Created Evil and Hell is Not Eternal).
Rephaim is an Adam-Flesh Race
The misinterpretation of Genesis 6:4 has caused a serious misinterpretation of Genesis 14:5, leading some to believe the “Rephaim” is a race of people that are half-fallen-angel and half-human.
The word râphâ’ and râphâh (Rephaim) means “in the sense of invigorating” which is from the root word meaning “to mend by stitching.” It is a PROPER gentilic noun which is a tribe of human men… no where does it state that they have other worldly DNA.
A “Rephaim” from another location, or râphâ’ and râphâh, is called the “bayth rapha” — this is an actual Israelite which is 100% human — see Strong’s H1051.
Please read that again — rapha is an actual Israelite which is an adam-man.
The use of the terms “Raphaim” and “Nephilim” makes it appear that there are other kinds of men walking this earth that are not 100% human. This is a grave error. The tall and powerful men were human beings too, just another race who were taller and created to be wicked, similar to how we have short races of Asians and tall races of Europeans.
But The Goat-Man?
Leviticus 17:7 is being used to support the idea that there was a half man-half goat walking among men. H8163 — The word śāʿîr means “hairy” as an adjective, and “devil” as a masculine noun. It only means “goat” when it’s talking about an actual goat animal.
In Leviticus 17:7, śāʿîr is used as a masculine noun which is a “name for their idol.” Their idol may have been half-goat because the adam-man-god behind it was hairy like Esau… and the man god may have worn a goat mask, or they chose the goat image to represent the hairiness of the man-god. We know Esau wasn’t an actual half-goat. But Esau was hated by God because he was wicked.
2 Chronicles 11:15 is also referred to as a source for there being a half-man half-animal kind. However, this verse is also referring to idols that were fashioned by hand (devils/goats and calves) and not an actual living creature that walks among men.
When śāʿîr is used as a masculine noun, it means “devil” which is an unseen spirit power that controls wicked men. It does not have a body of its own.
There are no human-animal or human-angel hybrids according to the inspired word of God. The scriptures have to be severely twisted to fit the narrative of 1 Enoch, an antichrist book written to skew the end times narrative.
God Fought a Viper with a Real Sword!
I heard a horrible teaching from a nice lady associated with a 1 Enoch ministry that is turning their ears from the truth and being turned unto fables (2 Timothy 4:4).
The teaching was that God — who is a Spirit (John 4:24) — fought a literal viper sea creature with a literal steel sword in the literal sea.
And that these sea creature vipers are walking around on earth disguised as human beings — she says we know this because Jesus called them “vipers.” Their ministry literally believes that some kind of literal snake DNA is what makes up most of these people… that they are not 100% adam-flesh.
I don’t believe they understand how detrimental it is to see another human being as having come from a sea creature as if they aren’t human. Jesus called them “Vipers!” because their SPIRITUAL seed is Satan…. their father is the devil (John 8:44).
There is a huge movement on YouTube of people claiming that some human beings have other-worldly DNA-seed that makes them vile and worthy of hate. These “godly” people are racists with hate in their heart. They hate a particular race of human people (whether Jews or blacks or Arabs or all of them) when Jesus commanded us to “love our enemies”… not keep company with them, but treat them with kindness when we are around them.
Men are from a spiritual seed, either God’s or Satan’s. It has nothing to do with DNA as everyone is a fallen adam-flesh in need of repentance, sanctification and justification. See God’s Chosen People.
Angels Cannot Procreate
Matthew 22:30 tells us that the angels in heaven are like people who will neither marry nor be given in marriage. They do not form couple bonds nor have children. They were not commanded to “be fruitful and multiply.” No celestial being or other-worldly beings took human wives for themselves.
Infallible bodies are SPIRITS that have shed the carnal flesh so as to dwell in God in the spiritual realm where He is all in all (1 Corinthians 15:28). Humans were created in the image of God (study is here). God is Spirit (John 4:24). Neither human flesh, sperm, or infallible bodies were given to the fallen angels when they were cast down to the earth before creation (see Earth was Destroyed BEFORE this Present Creation).
The Fallen Angels
Satan and his deception caused a third of the angels in heaven to be cast down to the earth before the creation of the world (Revelation 12:4-10… details here).
2 Peter 2:4 says “God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartaroo, deepest abyss of Hades], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;” Hades is the holding place of all invisible wicked spirits, human and celestial spirits.
When using the Strong’s, this verse actually says that “God incarcerated the angels that sinned in Hades and committed them into chains/bindings of darkness to be held fast unto judgment.” This happened at the cross due to the shed blood of Jesus Christ that will allow God to reconcile all those in heaven and in earth unto Himself (Colossians 1:20).
Jude 1:6 tells us when the angels’ judgment is. It says, “And the angels which kept not their first estate (their assigned job position in heaven), but left their own habitation (heavenly home), he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” (Note that “everlasting” here is an age with an end and not an eternity… the everlasting chains will END on the “great day”… and the spiritual principalities are truly eternal with no end – info is here.)
We now know that the “great day” came when Jesus returned and ended the old heaven (Sanhedrin government) and old earth (those under the law) and established the new heaven (Jesus’ reign) and new earth (those under the New Covenant of grace) — details here and here. I believe the fallen angels were raised and used to empower the locusts to torture the synagogue of Satan for 5 months during the Great Tribulation, and that they were thrown into the lake of fire with the Beast and False Prophet of 70 AD — details are here: The Jewish-Roman War & the Two Witnesses in the Great Tribulation.
Identifying the Spiritual Principalities
There is no interbreeding between mankind and any celestial beings. THIS IS A GREAT DECEPTION perpetuated on mankind to divert attention from our own wickedness of flesh and place it onto some hybrid race. The principalities that we fight are spiritual and they reside inside fallen mankind.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
The spiritual principalities that we war with are not tangible. They are not hybrid humans. They are strongholds/unseen evil spirits that our sinful flesh wars with, and that uses the bodies of other human beings to attack God’s people.
As soon as you clean your spiritual house, the demons (temptations) come back and bring 7 friends (Luke 11:24-26; Matthew 12:44-45). Why?… because we live in cursed bodies of sin, and when we are right with God, the wicked flesh seeks to destroy God’s temple which is the agape hearts of the redeemed (Ezekiel 36:26; Hebrews 8:10).
Satan wants our hearts to grow cold and to hate — without an agape heart of pure love for the brethren, Jesus does not know you. Paul says, “Though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge … but have not love, I am nothing” (1 Corinthians 13:2).
Satan is in Our Flesh
Satan is a real spiritual being with a real satanic kingdom. The evil that he is are devils, and they reside inside our carnal, fallen flesh.
Galatians 5:17 says “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” So even redeemed Christians are affected by devils in the flesh.
The adversary of our Spirit is our flesh.
1 Peter 5:8 tells us that our adversary is the devil who is the dragon, serpent and Satan (Revelation 12:9, 20:2).
So our Spirit’s adversary is the flesh, and is the devil. Flesh + devil = adversary.
Satan is in our physical flesh — he is not separate from what is physical fallen man. God is in our spiritual agape hearts (the new hearts He gave us) and in our mind/thoughts where He has written His laws.
In other words, Satan does not exist in God’s temple, New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:1-4). Satan’s spiritual devils do exist in our carnal flesh; his spiritual powers do not exist in our spiritual hearts.
When we are born again, we die to self, which means we die to the physical flesh (Romans 8:13, 1 Corinthians 15:31). When we take up our cross daily, we are denying our flesh and everything that it wants (Matthew 10:38). Jesus instructed us to do this daily because battling with our flesh is an on-going process because as long as we are on this earth, we reside in fallen, carnal flesh (Luke 9:23). God renews our spiritual hearts, not our earthly flesh.
“And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Mark 8:34).

Leviathan the Sea Monster
Talk about spinning fables… the stories surrounding leviathan are even more dramatic than fallen angels supposedly impregnating human women. Leviathan is NOT a fish!
Leviathan is not a PROPER NOUN which would be a name… he is just an invisible devil spirit power. His description in Job 41 is describing spiritual attributes of the fearless, egotistical, spiritually-dead children of pride who are controlled by him.
The word leviathan is only mentioned in 4 verses in the entire Bible: Job 41:1, Psalms 74:14, 104:26, Isaiah 27:1.
The sea that leviathan dwells in is carnal adam-flesh.
The waters are where the great harlot sits and are the peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues (Revelation 17:15). The people make a noise like the noise of the sea, and the nations like the rushing of mighty waters/rough seas (Isaiah 17:12).
The leviathan monster IN the sea is the devil in our carnal flesh. His power controls the wicked who abide where the harlot sits, but leviathan has no control over those who are in Christ Jesus.
Job 41:34 KJV really drives the nail into this coffin — it specifically tells us that “he [leviathan] is a king over all the children of pride.” Does that sound like a literal fish in the literal ocean?? Or are you going to keep telling your science-fiction fables??
Word Study
Revelation 12:9 and 20:2 tells us that the dragonG1404, the serpentG3789, the devilG1228, and SatanG4567 are all the same entity. While a few instances of these words are “masculine nouns” which is a person or thing/idea/power, none of them are a proper noun which denotes the name of a person.
The evil that walks among men have neuter genders — these are devils in our flesh. Satan is a masculine gender and is restrained in the abyss during this church age (see Millennial Reign – The Thousand Years).
A NOUN is a person, place, thing or idea.
The numbers that start with “G” or “H” are Strong’s Concordance numbers that coincide with the Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries in the back of the book.
The word “Devil”
The word devil is used to describe 4 different Greek words in the New Testament. It can be found 61 times in 57 verses in the KJV bible. They are as follows:
G1228 is diabolos which is an ADJECTIVE. An adjective describes something. It comes from a root word meaning a traducer which is “an accuser” and a “slanderer.” The spirit of diabolos causes men to falsely accuse God’s elect of wrong doing, and also causes us to talk down to ourselves. This is not a person, thing or idea, but is only a description of what a bad spirit does.
G1140 is daimonion which is a neuter noun — it is A THING that means “a demonic being; devil; god.” It is an unseen spirit power of a bad nature referred to as a devil. This is not a person, but a POWER…. this is a stronghold and the types of them are endless.
G1142 is daimōn which is a genitive singular neuter noun — this is a THING and not a person. It means “a supernatural spirit/devil” of a bad nature; the demon of strongholds. It is from the root word daio which means “to distribute fortunes” — this is where the false gospel of prosperity comes from.
G1139 is daimonizomai which is a VERB that is from G1142. It means “being exercised by a demon” which means “under the control of a devil.” This devil spirit causes us to give in to strongholds and/or falsely accuse the brethren or ourselves.
These devils/demons are spirits inside our carnal flesh. They are the adversary of our Spirit (Galatians 5:17). When Jesus drove out a demon, most of them were a stronghold of the flesh. For example, an addict losing the desire of the object of his addiction after repentance — this is a demon being cast out of him. The more obedient we are to God’s laws, the more demons he will remove from us. A DEMON IS A STRONGHOLD.
The demons that come at you from outside your body will come via other human beings who are being overtaken by their own devils due to serving the world.
I have heard stories of people being physically thrown about by an invisible force or a black image that felt evil, but they were always alone when it happened, and it often came with sleep paralysis. I’ve also heard one credible account from a guy being thrown about by a demon that he could see. These attacks happened to unbelievers and the unconverted and stopped once they repented and received Christ. My personal belief is that their very real experience was a vivid dream or vision that God used to bring them to His Son.
Since the cross when Jesus’ sacrifice bound Satan and his angels, these devils can only come at us through carnal flesh (our own or someone else’s).
The word “Satan”
The word Satan is used 56 times in 49 verses in the KJV bible.
H7854 — Every Old Testament use of “Satan” is only one Hebrew word which is ́sâṭân. It is a masculine noun which is a male person or thing/power. It is from the root word meaning attack and means “an opponent; an adversary.” This is THE PERSON Satan who roamed to and fro on the earth (Job 1:7) — Satan is spiritual and not tangible/physical.
G4567 — This New Testament word is Satanas and is a genitive singular masculine noun which is a male PERSON (this person is not tangible/physical). “Genitive” means it shows possession. We see this Greek word has the same meaning as the Hebrew word — it means “the accuser” which is the person Satan who is currently restrained in the abyss (see this article for details).
G4566 — this word is only used one time in the KJV in 2 Corinthians 12:7. It is the word sat-an’. I cannot find the part of speech of this word because most translations have G4567 in this verse instead of G4566. It’s Hebrew origin means “opponent” so it is a devil/bad spirit. If it were a masculine noun, the KJV should have used G4567 here, but didn’t. So in this verse, Paul is wrestling with a devil of the flesh – persecutions coming from within and without – and not a message from Satan himself (because Satan is BOUND in the bottomless pit during the new testament gospel era).
See how the English translators of our bibles are hiding the devils that are in our own flesh?… devils that attack us the most when our spiritual houses are clean? The false gospel tells us that if we are prospering in this world, then we are not affected by devils — that is deception!
The true gospel puts us through a narrow gate where we have to carve our way down a difficult path (Matthew 7:14) — this is a daily spiritual battle (which includes our flesh) that will earn us a crown of righteousness on the last day (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
Half of the church had lamps (light/gospel) WITH OIL (the Holy Spirit) at one time, but they let their oil run out so when Jesus came, He told them “I never knew you” (Matthew 25:1-13). Without an agape heart where the Holy Spirit resides, we have absolutely nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2).
The word “Dragon”
The word dragon is used 19 times in 18 verses in the KJV bible. It is primarily used in the book of Revelation but is mentioned in Nehemiah, Isaiah, Psalms, Jeremiah and Ezekiel.
Old Testament: H8577 is two different words, tannı̂yn and tannı̂ym, which means “to elongate; a monster.” It is translated as monster, serpent, dragon and whale in English translated bibles. It is a masculine noun. This word is used as a literal reptile (Exodus 7:9-10), a literal whale (Job 7:12), and metaphorically as a whale (Ezekiel 32:2). This is a masculine power at work (a thing or idea) and not a person.
New Testament: G1404 is drakōn from the word derkomai which means “to look; to fascinate.” It is a masculine noun. Revelation 20:2 tells us that drakon is the same being as SatanG4567. So the dragon which is Satan will fascinate or mesmerize (trick; deceive) the wicked people of the earth and will do this through men (see The Little Horn and the Clay are Jewish and The Antichrist Beasts in Revelation).
The word “Serpent”
The word serpent is used 40 times in 36 verses. It is used in place of 3 different words in the Old Testament and is one word in the New Testament.
Old Testament:
H5175 is from the root word H5172 which means “hiss” or “enchant.” It is a masculine noun. This was the serpent that was speaking with Eve in the garden.
H8577 is actually two different words: tannı̂yn and tannı̂ym which means “to elongate; a monster.” It is translated as monster, serpent, dragon and whale in English translated bibles. It is a masculine noun. Here we see this word used as a literal reptile (Exodus 7:9-10), a literal whale (Job 7:12), and metaphorically as a whale (Ezekiel 32:2). This is a masculine power at work (a thing or idea) and not a person.
H8314 is a VERB taken from the root word H8313 which means burning. It is only used twice as a “fiery serpent” (Isaiah 14:29, Numbers 21:8). One use of this verb is explained by biblical commentators as being a literal serpent that was probably copper-colored, but this word is a verb and not a noun, so that isn’t correct. The other use of this word is explaining the fruits of evil.
New Testament:
G3789 is the only use of the word “serpent” in the New Testament. It is a masculine noun taken from the root word G3700 which is “the idea of sharpness of vision; to gaze.” This idea goes back to what the dragon does which is “fascinate and mesmerize.” This word could also be a sly, cunning person — we know in this case that is Satan’s spirit power.
So Who is Lucifer?
Lucifer is a fallen angel and is mentioned only ONE time in scripture. He is not Satan which is the dragon, serpent and devil.
Isaiah 14:12
HowH349 art thou fallenH5307 from heaven,H4480 H8064 O Lucifer,H1966 sonH1121 of the morning!H7837 how art thou cut downH1438 to the ground,H776 which didst weakenH2522 H5921 the nations!H1471
Notice that Lucifer, a fallen angel, is a son of the morning and NOT a son of God.
The word “Lucifer” is hêylêl which means “brightness.” He is a son of the dawn (or when the day springs) which means light. But he turned his ways (fell) so was cast down to the ground which weakened (overthrew, decayed) mankind.
Satan is the sun of this world which false Christianity, witches, secret society members, illuminati, etc, etc, all worship. He is the worldly false light that rises over a cursed earth and comes from spiritual darkness.
Jesus Christ is the spiritual light that ends the darkness.
These fallen ones come looking like the light of Christ, but their intentions toward humans are pure evil.
In Closing
The world is hiding Satan from us and has us worrying about and focusing on imaginary, mythological creatures.
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Timothy 4:4 (KJV)
We cannot fight an enemy if we do not know who that enemy is — it primarily resides in our fallen, carnal adam-flesh.
Our cursed adam flesh is full of devils. This is why God’s word tells us we must repent, die to self/the old man and to the world, and take up our cross daily (Mark 8:34). We must die to self and what the self wants or the demons will re-occupy our hearts, turn it to stone, and multiply (Luke 11:24-26; Matthew 12:44-45).
God created evil men, those men of renown, the tyrants and giants of the earth for His power and glory. To make sense of why a God who is loving and good would do such a thing, please see the study God Created Evil. God desires that we understand and know Him (Jeremiah 9:24).
The spiritual kingdom is becoming very real in these last days, but God has adequately provided us with all of the armor we will need to overcome in Jesus Christ! See Never Be Without Your Armor.
God did not tell us to READ to show ourselves approved, but to STUDY to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15). I encourage you to look up God’s inspired Word using the Strong’s and Interlinear bibles — do not trust the fallible human translators of any bible version.
