The old testament is a foreshadow of nearly everything in the new testament, but I always thought there was one exception: the earth melting with fervent heat at the coming of the Lord.
However, there are 3 scriptural accounts that the Lord’s presence has been here before and melted the earth. And there are many proofs of this event all over the earth that are unexplained with any certainty by geologists.
Account #1
Judges 5:4-7
“4 Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
5 The mountains melted from before the Lord, even that Sinai from before the Lord God of Israel.
6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
Account #2
Psalms 46:2-3, 6, 8
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
Account #3
Psalms 97:3-5, 12
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Old Testament Saints Remembered
We see the old testament saints frequently recollected the previous destruction of the earth and of the wicked by the Lord, and His preservation of His saints through it all. They did it through songs of praise in the book of Psalms.
In Psalms 46:8, they remember the works of the Lord and the desolations he has made in the earth. They frequently recollect a past event.
In Psalms 97:12, they are rejoicing at the recollection/memory of His holiness, a clear indication of an event that had already occurred.
Judges 5:4 says the Lord “went out” and “marched out,” both past tense marking an event that already happened.
In Judges 5, we see the event being told to the people; a story that was widely known and talked about back then, I’m sure. This event included the moving of mountains/countries, the melting of hills/cities, and the dropping of flood waters which left many mountains/kingdoms “in the midst of the sea” (as islands or a complete submersion).
What Time in History?
We see in Judges 5 that the highways were unoccupied and those travelers who remained walked through the narrow way, so this event happened sometime before then. That could’ve been anywhere from 2350 B.C. with Noah’s flood up to Deborah’s existence in the mid-1300’s B.C. (scholars are unsure of both dates).
The Vatican has hidden our true history from us. The dates of most everything from the flood to Jesus’ birth and resurrection to when Revelation was written is a guess by scholars because we do not have the dates.
My thought is that the melt destroyed the work of the Genesis 6 men, and Noah’s flood is what stopped the event. [See my article “Human-Nephilim Hybrids? Genesis 6:4” for a word study on the lineage of the men of Genesis 6.]
A Few Photos
Here are a few of the best photos I have found which shows melted kingdoms and cities. I understand that wind, rain and water can alter rock over thousands (or as “they” say, millions) of years, so I’ve tried to post photos that cannot be logically explained solely by environmental weather conditions.
God’s lightnings (Psalms 97:4) and fire that He sent caused the matter to swell (Psalms 46:3) and then weep. Sometimes the swelling started at the bottom and shot up in various directions, and other times, there was swelling from the inside out with weeping from the top down. The flood waters (Judges 5:4-5) must have been sent to cool the earth which is what ended this event.
I apologize I do not know the locations of these photos. Hope you enjoy them!

In Closing
Ecclesiastes 1:9 — “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”
When I first realized what I was looking at in the melt photos, it confirmed to me that God is VERY real and Jesus is definitely coming back! I already knew, but to see physical evidence of a foreshadow of Jesus coming soon to the earth is just so surreal… and so awesome!
Stay in the Word because God is revealing things to His children at a rapid pace! May God bless you and yours.
