What is the Mark of the Beast in Revelation?
Let’s begin by bringing our attention to what God says is NOT the Mark:
“There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.” ~Mark 7:15
What this verse is saying is that there is nothing on this earth that can enter us and spiritually defile the temple of God which is our physical bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The blood of Jesus has defeated all that is of this world (John 16:33). God’s kingdom is SPIRITUAL.
Our Bodily Autonomy
Our physical bodies are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:19, 2 Corinthians 6:16). Our bodily autonomy is not to be infringed upon by Satan or the world. When the Holy Spirit convicts you of ANY matter, then it is wrong and should be avoided (1 John 2:27).
Because God resides within us, He warns us to stay vigilant and sober (1 Peter 5:8). Being vigilant means we must become watchmen and not allow ourselves to be led away from Christ by the words or doings of devils. Being sober is to remain in a healthy state of mind — we should never partake in anything that would alter our reasoning, judgment or personality.
Who is the Beast?
Revelation 13:18 reads that the mark of the beast is “the number of A man.” However, in the original Greek texts, there is no letter “A” here. The verse actually reads “the number of man.” The dragon, Satan, will give his power to mankind/the false prophet/the antichrist beast in order to persecute and cause the physical or spiritual death of Christians.
The beast system is worldly mankind that is influenced by devils. Satan is a spirit and his devils (which are in the carnal flesh of man) can only operate among mankind through our human vessels (details here). Satan and the fallen angels are bound in the abyss and operating on a leash during this church age (see this article).
John T. Ritenbaugh of TheBerean.org described the beast perfectly: “The beast represents a governmental system, the personality of a system, and that system’s philosophy of life. The context is showing us that from the system’s point of view, people have no value other than for its purpose, and its purpose is simply to maintain and to extend its existence and power through the use of terror, fear—things that any wild animal would naturally exercise. In the “beast’s” eyes, we are fodder or chattel.”
The beast of the sea in Revelation 13 is the antichrist world system; the beast of the earth is the false prophet/worldly religious system (details here).
Description of the Mark of the Beast
Revelation 13:16-18 gives us the description of the Mark:
“16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
Revelation 13:16-18
The Mark is going to be IN our right hand and IN our foreheads. This is the translation of the original Hebrew and Greek which is God’s true inspired Word.
Inside the forehead is the frontal lobe where our reasoning and decision-making takes place. This is where God writes His laws within His called-out saints. Are we going to believe and worship like the worldly, or choose to believe in and worship God our sovereign Creator?
Our right hand represents who and what we serve. God moves the work of our hands through our spirit-fruits (details here). What we do with our hands is either contributing to or working against the beast system. Are our hands praising God and supporting His people, or lifting up the beast system?
Making people believe that we should be looking for a future physical mark to be rolled out after a man takes over a physical Jewish temple is their way of disguising what the true mark is. This is a literal actual conspiracy done by evil men that is documented in the bible in the book of Ezekiel — they are hiding Satan from those who call themselves “Christians.” See the article Conspiracy of Her Prophets for more information.
Could a physical mark, like an invisible black-light tattoo, roll out in the last days of earth’s existence? Of course it could, but a physical mark on your person is no different than using your palm-print to pay for a purchase, or using your fingerprint or face to unlock your tracking device/smartphone.
Any future physical mark is just deception that is hiding the true Satanic beast from you (see this article for details). No physical mark is going to condemn your soul unless receiving it requires pledging your allegiance/worship to a human man/antichrist spirit. It is who you serve and revere that will either save or destroy you.
In Full Disclosure…
….there is an argument that says the mark of the beast will be ON the hand or forehead… stamped, carved, or imprinted onto the skin. We know that Jesus’ second coming was in late-66 AD (details here), and prior to that, there was most likely an actual physical mark that was forced on the people who were under God’s OLD Covenant (I read an account that the elite had it on their forehead and the commoners had it on their hands, but I cannot locate that source now).
But since the cross, Jesus has conquered all that is of the elemental world, including what is in and on our flesh (John 16:33); but the information in the following articles are still worth reading as they pertain to other MAJOR end times deceptions of the antichrist system:
The Israeli Flag “Star of David” — the 6-pointed star — was and is the literal Mark of the Beast: Part 1 and Part 2.
There is NO SUCH THING as the “star of David” anywhere in scripture (biblical proofs here). It is an ancient occultic antichrist deception that is perpetuated by Zionism and their pagan “star of Remphan” mentioned in Acts 7:43. Details here and here.

The Israel flag “star of David” IS the star of Remphan — it has 6 lines/sides, 6 triangles on the outside surrounding a 6-sided center hexagon. PLEASE WAKE UP PEOPLE and read this: God’s Chosen People.
Description of the Mark of God
God’s mark is in our forehead and in our hand. Deuteronomy 6:8 says, “And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.” We have been bought with a price and are not our own or of the world (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Deuteronomy 11:18 says, “Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.”
The Mark Is Spiritual In Nature
At the end of the Old Covenant physical kingdom of God, it is believed there was a physical mark of the beast (covered in the above section). But since the cross when the New Covenant was established, God’s is now solely a spiritual kingdom on this earth — our bodies are His temple where He resides in the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:13 says: “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
We must compare the spiritual with the spiritual. The word “mark” in Greek has the same meaning as the word “seal” — it means “stamp” which is etched in our hearts and minds. God’s seal is spiritual and so is the antichrist’s seal.
Many antichrists and the false prophet system have always been here and they seek to cause your spiritual death (1 John 2:18). The falling away spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is spiritual (details here) — it is people turning their hearts toward the world, or toward false Christianity, believing they are righteous when they are only self-righteous which is an abomination to God.
Examples: 1) The Christmas celebration was banned in the U.S.’s Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1659 because it was a satanic practice (source here). 2) Jesus’ birthday is September 11, 3 A.D. – ChristMass is the worship of a false christ of another gospel (details here). 3) Easter is sun god worship and Jesus was not resurrected on a Sunday (proofs here). OBSERVING PAGAN HOLIDAYS IS PRACTICING IDOLATRY (details here).
The world is deceiving most people — many who call themselves Christians aren’t even aware of the manipulation because Mystery Babylon has already brainwashed them into believing that what’s good (denying self) is not of God/evil and what’s evil (worldly acceptance) is good.

Spiritual Significance of 6
The number 6 symbolizes labor/works in the bible (God worked 6 days; man works 6 days; etc).
In Freemasonry and New-Ageism, the number 6 represents man.
The mark is in our mind (who we worship/serve allegiance to) and right hand (who we work for).
Do we labor for Jesus Christ and God’s purpose for our lives, or are our works of the world?
Revelation 13:17 explains that there will come a time when we will no longer be able to participate in society (“buy or sell”) unless we are either working immorally, or worshiping the things of the world, or love evil and wickedness.
In summary, the number 6 symbolizes our works which are both physical and — most importantly — spiritual.
The Triple Use of 6 or 666
The triple use of 6 represents the works of the triune antichrist. Satan can only imitate God and does so with the triunity.
Our God works in man through the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
The antichrist kingdom works among man by way of Satan/the dragon, the Antichrist/Beast, and the false prophet (Revelation chapter 13). The false prophet is mankind’s “enforcers” and “influencers” who cause the worldly to worship the first beast/the antichrist world kingdom.
Satan LOOKS LIKE A CHRISTIAN (details here). Satan is the devils that reside in the carnal flesh of man and the wicked serve them. Today’s antichrists are charming, sweet, kind, excellent conversationalists, do good works, and are master manipulators who secretly detest and destroy God’s redeemed. All evil men hide behind philanthropic organizations and the Christian label.
The false prophet system is effective in deceiving Christians because it looks like Christianity — it is a works-based system of self-preservation that makes serving the world through sacraments and physical actions look like you are serving God and Jesus Christ. We must detach ourselves from all that is of the world, especially sacraments and physical rituals. The works that we do that are not of the world can only be done through our new agape hearts which we receive through Jesus Christ (Revelation 21:1-3) – info here.
Is The Mark Here Yet?
The fallen nature of our cursed human vessels has the mark the day we come into this world — the only thing that removes it is salvation through Jesus Christ. The only way we keep from receiving the world’s mark again is by obeying God the Father and His commandments and laws that He has written in our hearts and minds. To be without God’s laws is to be marked by the beast/the worldly system. You can’t be on the fence because Satan owns the fence (Revelation 3:15-16).
The antichrist spirit and their system has ALWAYS been here desecrating all that is good in the world (see this article for proofs). They have poisoned our food, our air and our water with chemicals, and they prevent us from living freely on this earth by way of property taxes and use of their currency to pay them. We are told that the beast/mankind causes ALL to receive his mark (Revelation 13:16)… only Jesus Christ can remove it.
Our world is owned and operated by evil and is designed for the purpose of separating God’s children from Him (they will FAIL in this regard as God predestined His children before the creation of the world — see Romans 8:30). Our freedom from bondage is spiritual and given to us by God’s grace ONLY through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Our physical body is God’s temple (1 Corinthians 6:19). God sanctifies every unclean thing that enters His temple through Jesus Christ and prayer (1 Timothy 4:5).
THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HAS OVERCOME EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD (John 16:33).
The NWO Mark of the Beast
I came across a 2015 post by David Nikao Wilcoxson that gives his interpretation of the mark of the beast (source here). He stated the following:
“There are two fulfillments of the mark of the beast; one in Revelation 14 which was fulfilled during the 17th-18th century, and one that will be fulfilled when the Jesuits push the world into their One World Government.
The first fulfillment was about the people of France, Spain and other countries, who revered (mark on their forehead) the Pope, and who obeyed (mark on the right hand, actions) his command to kill the saints. They killed millions of saints.
Vengeance was poured out on these people during the first four bowls of Revelation, as France descended into complete atheism; As hundreds of French people, including the government and Roman Catholic Church leaders, were killed during the French Revolution when their blood was poured out in the same places that they had killed the saints; and with the Napoleonic Wars which were extremely bloody.

The future fulfillment will happen when the Jesuits push the world into their One World Government, when all countries will be subservient to them. This will happen after WW III and no doubt there will be a worldwide financial collapse.
The Jesuits will offer a One World Currency to help restore peace, but it will be contingent on you revering and obeying the Pope, the beast of Revelation 13. Pope Francis is the first Jesuit Pope, which is significant.
If you obey the commands, then you have the mark on you.
They may use a tattoo or RFID chip to control whether you buy and sell, but the true mark is your obeying their orders.
If you don’t obey, then you will be killed or shut out of their financial system.
In the midst of all of that, in Revelation 16, Messiah proclaimed “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”

We can see there are different interpretations of the mark of the beast, but the bottom line is that it is the antichrist world and its king, Satan, trying to spiritually destroy everything that is Christ within you so they can mark you as Satan’s seed/child.

Mark of the Beast Fulfillments
It is believed there was a literal, physical stamped or etched mark of the beast placed on all people who lived under the judicial and religious reign of the Jewish Great Sanhedrin prior to 70 AD (see The Little Horn & the Clay are Jewish). But since the cross, the old has been made new, the law was fulfilled in grace, and the physical became the spiritual.
David Nikao Wilcoxson explains that “Some of the references to the mark of the beast have already been fulfilled, as Catholic countries obeyed the antichrist beast Pope’s command to kill the saints. 1.3 billion Catholics have the mark of the beast as they revere (mark on forehead) and obey (mark on right hand, actions) the antichrist beast Pope of Rome.” Please see his article The Revelation Fulfillments of the Mark of the Beast.
The Catholics’ public declaration of their spiritual mark of the beast is made annually with an ash cross put on their forehead by a Catholic priest on Ash Wednesday — this is the start of the 40-day period of lent which is the mourning of the winter sun god which died on Fat Tuesday (details here). We will know them/false Christians by their fruits (excellent comprehensive article here). We should be witnessing to Catholics instead of holding their hand while they walk off the spiritual cliff as they continue on in idolatry and spiritual adultery (article here).
God has been fulfilling biblical prophecy over the past 2,000 years. Anyone telling you that all of these events are still in the future are pushing Jesuit-created Zionist lies of the evil one (see this article for details).
Around 30 AD during His earthly ministry, Jesus warned the disciples that before He returned (in late-66 to early-70 AD), false Christs and false prophets would rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect (Matthew 24:24). This problem has grown progressively worse throughout the Church Age. Please study/define the individual words in your bibles… a how-to is here (2 Timothy 2:15).
In Closing
If you have genuinely repented of your transgressions, have been born again, worship God the Father ONLY, have received the Holy Spirit baptism through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, you read and study His word, died to self and take up your cross daily, and never deny your testimony of Jesus Christ to anyone or for any reason; then you will recognize what causes “the mark” and the Holy Spirit will convict you to avoid it, just as He convicts us every time we walk outside of God’s will for us.
