Daniel’s 70 Weeks was Fulfilled in 34 AD

History proves the 70 weeks of Daniel has already occurred which PROVES the accuracy and truth of God’s perfect inspired word. It also confirms the New Covenant which makes our faith tangible.

The Original Hebrew

Daniel 9:24 reads “Sevened Seventy” in the original language. Not “Seventy weeks.” This is why this period cannot be just 70 years. It is a 70 that is sevened which is 70 times 7 or 490 years.

Summary of the 70 Weeks

Ten Shemitah cycles of 49 years make up the 490-year prophecy. It starts with the Jewish captives being released from captivity, and it ends with the gentiles being released from spiritual captivity.

457 BC was a Jubilee year — marks the command for the Jews to be released from captivity, to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, and to prepare for the coming Messiah. THIS WAS SEVEN WEEKS OF SEVEN SHEMITAH CYCLES THAT LASTED 49 YEARS.

408 BC was a Jubilee year — marks the time that the city Jerusalem had been rebuilt and the Jewish leadership system had been restored. THIS WAS THE 62 WEEK PERIOD THAT LASTED 434 YEARS.

27 AD — Messiah’s baptism marked the start of His ministry in 27 AD. He died in the middle of the 70th week in 31 AD. 27 AD BEGINS THE ONE WEEK WHICH IS 7 YEARS.

During the 7 years of the 70th week, the gospel message was preached to the Jews. For the first 3 1/2 years, it was preached by Jesus and His disciples. For the last 3 1/2 years after the cross, Jesus continued to send prophets to the Jews. At the end of the 7 years, the Jews stoned Stephen, the last prophet that was sent to them. The early church then left the Jews and Jerusalem and began to preach the gospel message to the gentiles.

34 AD was a Jubilee year — This is the end of the 70th week of 7 years. It marks the time that the gospel was preached unto the gentiles to set them free. 34 AD MARKED THE BEGINNING OF ONE GENERATION (nearly 40 years) after Messiah died to give the Jews time to accept their promised Messiah.

63-70 AD was the Great Tribulation on the House of Jacob/Israel which included the seals, trumpets, vials and the two witnesses — this included the second coming of Jesus Christ in late-66 AD. For details, see this study.

70 AD — The city of Jerusalem, the temple, and the Jewish nation were completely desolated. All physical things of old were destroyed and fulfilled/made spiritual in Christ Jesus and the New Covenant of God. Hallelujah!!

  • 7 Weeks: 457-408 BC (7×7 = 49 years)
  • 62 Weeks: 408 BC-27 AD (7×62 = 434 years)
  • 1 Week: 27-34 AD (7×1 = 7 years)
  • Grace period of nearly 40 years for the Jews: 27 to late-66 AD (when Jerusalem was attacked which ended in complete desolation of the Jewish government and their city in 70 AD).

The Sacrifices Did Not Cease in 70 AD

Daniel 9:27 tells us that animal sacrifices and oblations/gifts stopped in 31 AD when the 60-foot tall temple veil split in two after Jesus’ death on the cross (source). This opened up the Holy of Holies to everyone which showed that God’s presence was no longer in the physical temple made with hands (Acts 17:24).

The reason the Jews stopped animal sacrifices wasn’t because the Romans burned down their temple in 70 AD… it was because Jesus destroyed them in 31 AD and caused God to leave them and the physical temple. This is why they are not sacrificing animals today — they know God is no longer with them and they seek to destroy His called-out people with their Noahide Laws. See these studies:

We have been deceived.

Those who are controlling the “new world order” have made us believe that the book of Daniel was about our future (info here and here). That has caused us to misunderstand Revelation which is why there are so many interpretations of it flying around out there. But worst of all, misunderstanding Daniel is denying the PROOFS of the deity of Jesus Christ. Please look into this. If you are one with eyes to see, it will clear up SO MUCH for you.
